The house has a mix of soft curves, textural finishes, and strong, dark surfaces. The kitchen had to fit in with this palette. There was also a strict budget, so I needed to be conscious of the materials and finishes I chose. This kitchen needed to look luxurious without a huge price tag.
Following the design brief for ‘clean lines’ and a ‘furniture look’, the functional part of the kitchen is hidden behind a large bank of full-height cabinetry, fronted by a large but discreet kitchen island with a sculptural seating element at one end.
Adjacent to the island, a curved plaster, built-in drinks cabinet finishes off the space.
